The White River Canyon
The White River is the largest one in Adygea. The canyon is located in the South-West of the town Kamenomostsky. Its width is 7-23 feet, the depth is 115 feet and the length is 1300 feet. The bottom part of the canyon looks magnificent due to natural stone bridges between the walls; also ancient underground channels are seen there. About 130-120 million years ago, when the upper Jurassic sea was covering the region, calcareous layer formed there. The White river was making its underground path in the cracks, later the upper part of the layer was destroyed and today we are enjoying the terrific view of the canyon.
