Russian visa can be obtained only in the country of your citizenship unless you have residence permit for another country for the period more than 90 days.
Having a multiple entry visa you can stay in Russia up to 90 days out of 180 days.
The following documents should be submitted to the Russian Embassy or Consulate to obtain business visa to enter Russia.

Russian Business Single, Double and Multiple-Entry Visa
1. Your original passport with at least 2 blank visa-designated pages (passport must be valid for at least 6 months after intended departure date from Russia).
2. Two copies of Russian visa application form; the form should be completed and signed.
3. ONE passport-size photo with your first and last name on the back.
4. If your stay exceeds 3 months, or you apply for multiple-entry visa, a HIV test is required (Please contact your local Russian embassy and consulate and ask if it’s needed).
5. Official invitation from an organization authorized to invite business visitors to Russia.
Official visa invitation must be issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, The Ministry of Interior or their regional representatives or local offices. Your embassy might request the original invitation but in many cases scanned or faxed copy is enough.

Important: Visa registration
According to Russian immigration law, you must notify the Federal Migration Service about your arrival to the Russian Federation on the next business day after your get in the country. If you are staying at the hotel, the hotel staff will handle this procedure for you when you will be checking in.
